Pacific Baroque Orchestra

The Pacific Baroque Orchestra will bring a program entitled A Little Night Music. The title work is Mozart’s beloved Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. The theme of night music will be explored further in the works of Baroque composers such as Henry Purcell and Luigi Boccherini.
Benjamin Butterfield

Acclaimed Canadian tenor Benjamin Butterfield will present a program of two contrasting song cycles. The first half will feature Robert Schumann’s Liederkreis, Op. 24. This is a cycle of nine songs based on the poetry of Heinrich Heine. The second half will focus on the music of Randy Newman. Best known for composing film scores, Newman has also written countless songs. Butterfield will sing some of his favourite from that large trove.
Fire and Grace and Ash

Fire and Grace and Ash will bring an eclectic program that finds inspiration in Bach and their own compositions, in traditional American tunes and music from the other side of the world.
Karl Stobbe and Paul Williamson

We are delighted to present two outstanding musicians with family connections in the Fraser Valley. Paul Williamson grew up in Mission. Karl Stobbe has a brother in Langley and extended family members in the Fraser Valley. The duo will perform a program which includes works that carry personal significance. Stobbe commissioned Michael Oesterle to compose the Biber Suite based on music by Heinrich Biber. He played Alba at the funeral of the beloved Vancouver composer Jocelyn Morlock.
Jonathan Swensen and Juho Pohjonen

Friday, April 9, 2027, 7:30 p.m.
A Danish-American cellist and Finnish pianist will collaborate to bring a varied program of small and great masterpieces for cello and piano. The concert will include intensely emotional works by Lutoslawski and Pärt alongside two well-known gems by Gabriel Fauré. The major works on the program will be sonatas by Poulenc and Chopin.
