I would like to share with you news of a concert on Friday, August 22, by two exceptionally talented young pianists.
Mission’s Rafael Comeau will present a program entitled All Over the Ivories together with Ontario pianist Justin Cho. They will play music by Beethoven, Chopin, and Scriabin as well as some jazz and show tunes.
Rafael won the Valley Concert Society’s Paul Moritz Bursary in 2019. The next year he played for Canada’s brilliant Charles Richard-Hamelin in our masterclass when Charles was here for our last concert before the pandemic shut down public events.
During the past season Rafael studied at the University of Ottawa with David Jalbert, another of our country’s finest pianists and an exceptional teacher.
The program will take place this Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Calvin Presbyterian Church. Admission is free. Donations in support of Rafael’s and Justin’s further musical education are welcome.
The Valley Concert Society is pleased to join other local music organizations in sharing news of this wonderful program consistent with our core mission of supporting the musical education of local young people.
