The Butter Quartet enjoys integrating their research on late 18th- and early 19th century performance practice into powerful performances. They value a strong connection with their audiences.
Among the many festivals in which they have participated are The String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam, the York Early Music Festival, and Mozartfest Würzburg. Their performances have been broadcast on national classical radio in the Netherlands, the UK, France, and Slovenia.
Cellist Evan Buttar is a native of Vancouver. Violinists Anna Jane Lester and Chloe Prendergast hail from the US. Violist Isabel Franenberg is from the Netherlands.
