Gryphon Trio Plays Beethoven

White Rock Concerts is partnering with several other North American concert societies to
present two very special live-stream concerts in honour of the 250 th anniversary of
Beethoven’s birth. We have been invited to share this listening opportunity with The
Valley Concert Society audience.

The Gryphon Trio, one of Canada’s musical treasures, will perform all six of
Beethoven’s piano trios in two concerts live-streamed on December 10 and 11 at 4:30
p.m. PST. The performances will be hosted by esteemed musical commentators Eric
Friesen and Rob Kapilow.

There will be a ticket fee of $15 for each concert or $25 for both. You will be asked to
create an account using your email and a password. The concerts will be available to
ticket purchasers live and will remain available as a recording until December 17. The
information you need to access these programs can be found at

Beethoven@250

Despite the fact that the links appear to suggest that the $15 ticket price is in US dollars, I
have been assured that the cost is definitely in Canadian dollars. The fees are there simply
to cover the cost of production. The Valley Concert Society does not incur any costs and
does not gain any benefit from your participation.

Violinist Annalee Patipatanakoon, cellist Roman Borys and pianist Jamie Parker have
performed together as The Gryphon Trio for over 25 years. Writer and broadcaster Eric
Friesen will host the programs with special guest Rob Kapilow, well known to listeners
of NPR.

This will be a wonderful opportunity to hear some of Canada’s finest musicians
performing six gems from the master culminating in the magnificent Archduke Trio.
